Task: Fix Duo Windows for logon so duo prompts the user upon logging in.

How do you tell if it doesn't work: Have the user sign back in after being given the proper permissions. If after typing their password it bypasses and goes back into Windows, then Duo for Windows Logon is not working.

Instructions:

  1. Go to "Settings".
  2. Click "Apps".
  3. Click "Installed Apps".
  4. Locate "Duo Authentication for Windows Logon x64" then Uninstall.
  5. Click this link to download the current version of the installer.
  6. Open the zip file that downloads.
  7. Extract the "DuoWindowsLogon64.msi" file.
  8. Copy and paste the "DuoWindowsLogon64.msi" onto the target machine.
  9. Then open Command Line as an Admin and run the following commands:

Run first:

cd c:/tools

Run Second:

msiexec /i "DuoWindowsLogon64.msi" IKEY="DISH341WPXT00NFA86ZA" SKEY="X0bhw9W6HM7QBFWMm2Cwh1JWVUOJDjX8f8Od7cnt" HOST="api-b99db8f3.duosecurity.com" AUTOPUSH="#1" FAILOPEN="#0" SMARTCARD="#0" RDPONLY="#0" /qn

       8. Make sure the app is showing back up in installed apps.

      9. If it's showing in installed apps, lock the computer, have the user sign back in.

Outcome: If it is working, they will be prompted upon logging in.
