SignNow is the agency's document software for electronic signing workflows. Some examples of documents we use this platform to sign include Change of Status, Education reimbursement, Travel approvals, etc.


Using a Signing Link on the Intranet:

  1. Log in to the LCSO Intranet.
  2. Open the SignNow landing page, listed under Common links.
  3. Click on the appropriate document type.
  4. Enter the requested information in the template, such as the employee and supervisor's email addresses in this Travel template.
    It is also suggested that you add the name/ID# of the employee to the document title, so that it is easier to find in the system later if we need to look it up.

    You will see all the possible Major/Captain approvers in the chain of command. Once signing the document, you will select the applicable Command Staff for signing from a dropdown in the document. (Other Major/Captains will not be sent the approval, only the selected.)
  5. The document will open on the next screen to fill out and sign.

Using a Template in the SignNow web app:

  1. Log in to SignNow
  2. Navigate to Shared Templates in the left menu.
  3. Select Invite to Sign on the appropriate template, then Single Invite.
  4. Fill out any blank signer spots (likely this is just the first one, which you likely intend to be yourself).
    It is also suggested that you add the name/ID# of the employee to the document title, so that it is easier to find in the system later if we need to look it up.

    If there is a prompt to "save these settings as default for the template", uncheck this box.
  5. If you are indeed the first signer, you should now have a document waiting on you to sign. Click on Fill and Sign to perform this first step on the document workflow.
