What is archived evidence?
Axon Evidence automatically archives evidence that has not been accessed for 6 months.
Archived evidence is:
- Still Searchable
- Restorable
- Typically retrievable within one day
Why do I have to restore the evidence?
Archived evidence must be restored to perform the following actions:
- View or download the main video
- Create new interactions with the videos, such as new redactions
- Create new markers or clips
- Create new transcripts
Note: Adding archived evidence to a case will begin the restore process. You can share the case only after all archived evidence has been restored.
How to restore evidence from archive
- Add it to a case
- Choose Restore on the Evidence Details page
- When multiple pieces of evidence have been selected, choose Restore from Archive
Adding archived evidence to a case
- On the Case Details page, select Add Evidence
- Search for the evidence you need to add and select it from the search results
- Select Add to Case. This will start the restore process.
Restoring archived evidence from evidence details
When viewing the Evidence Details page for an archived piece of evidence, a banner will display above the evidence thumbnail image, stating that the evidence is archived, and include a Restore button.
Select Restore will bring up a window to confirm that you want to restore the evidence from archive.
When the evidence is restored, you will get an email confirming the process is completed.
Restoring archived evidence from evidence search
If some or all of the evidence you have selected is archived, select the ellipses (…), then select Restore from archive.
Confirm you want to restore the evidence from archive.
When the process is completed, you will receive an email.
