Map Search allows users to filter evidence by location, helping identify patterns, find nearby incidents, and locate recordings within a specific area. Users can search by address or apply filters to refine results geographically.
Utilizing Map Search

Access Evidence
- From the left-hand navigation panel, select Evidence.
- Apply filters as needed to narrow your results.

Switch to Map View
- Select the Map icon to display results geographically.
Map Functionality
- When the map opens, it displays a radius containing clusters of the first 50 evidence results.
- Clusters represent grouped evidence items in a specific area.
Searching by Location
You can refine results in two ways:
Option 1: Search by Address
- Enter a specific address in the search bar.
- The map updates to display evidence clusters in that area.
Option 2: Apply Filters or Zoom
- Apply additional filters or zoom into the map.
- Clusters automatically update and break apart into individual pins as you zoom in, providing more granular detail.
Interacting with the Map

Zoom and Pan
Use the zoom controls on the map to zoom in or out or manually drag the map to pan to a different area. -
Search in This Area
When the visible map area changes, a Search in this area button appears at the bottom of the map.
Select this button to refresh the pins and display evidence within the current view. -
Select a Cluster
Click a cluster to zoom in and view more detailed results within that area. -
View Individual Evidence
As clusters break into pins, select a pin to view summary details of that evidence item. -
Pin Actions
After selecting a pin, two options are available:- Path – Displays the path the evidence traveled.
- View Details – Opens the video associated with the selected pin.
- Dynamic Updates
The map and evidence list remain synchronized. As you pan, zoom, or apply filters, the evidence list updates to reflect only items within the visible map area. -
Filtered Results Refresh
If filters are applied that limit results, select Search in this area to refresh and display pins within the current view.
Additional Ways to Search
In addition to using map search, there are other ways to find evidence depending on your workflow:
- Text search – Use keywords or identifiers in the global search bar to quickly locate specific evidence.
- Attribute-based search – Find evidence using natural language to locate people in body - worn camera footage on what they are wearing or carrying. COMING SOON
