The Timeline and Scrub Bar controls help you review video evidence, navigate recordings, and work with clips and markers more precisely.


1. Timeline

A visual representation of the video’s playback duration.

  • Use the zoom controls (magnifying glass with +, then slider) to zoom in or out for more precise navigation.
  • Zooming in can help when creating or adjusting clips and markers.


2. Clips and Markers Track

Displays clips and markers created by Axon Evidence users along the timeline.


3. Auto-Generated Markers Track

Displays markers automatically generated by Axon devices.


4. People Track

Displays detected human forms within the video using Smart Detection.


5. Clip Handle

Defines the start and end points of a selected video clip.

  • Drag the handles left or right to adjust the clip range precisely.
  • You can also enter the exact start and stop times in the pop-out window
  • Use the pop-out window to add or update a description for the clip.


6. Marker Handle

Represents a marker placed at a specific point in the video timeline.

  • Drag the marker handle to reposition it to an exact moment in the recording.
  • You can also enter the exact timestamp in the pop-out window for a more precise placement.
  • Use the pop-out window to add or update a description for the marker. 


Note: Use the Markers and Clips icon to edit or delete existing markers and clips.
