Laptop Donation
During the laptop donation process you will:
- Start off by removing/sanitizing its existing SSD. This process can take up to six hours to complete.
- Once the SSD is sanitized, replace the SSD back into the laptop and access the BIOS. *Make sure to change the existing BIOS password to “password”. *
- Once the BIOS password is changed go ahead and make sure to remove the device name from Active Directory and SCCM. Also, make sure to Retire the device in Fresh Service and delete from Ninite.
- Once that is complete, begin the image process and select the Clean Slate | Non-Domain Image.
- When the image is complete, the username will be Administrator and the password for that can be found in Keeper under Non Domain Image Administrator Password.
- When logged in, begin with Windows Updates and change the Administrator password to “password”.
- You have completed the process of preparing a laptop for donation.
